Marissa Gillis
Personal Trainer

Marissa’s journey into a career in fitness was rather unassuming. Marissa completed a General Studies program in university and knew that she did not want to pursue a degree. She had always had a passion for yoga and had been practicing for almost a decade at that point, so she decided to take a leap of faith and do my 200 hour yoga teacher training. Marissa found so much salvation in the 200 hour training that she took another 300 hour advanced yoga training (500 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training), and subsequently obtained her Personal Training Certificate, Group Fitness Instructor Certificate, and Nutritionist Certificate with ISSA.
It was through her personal practice and education with yoga which prompted Marissa’s discovery that fitness is a holistic endeavor; physical fitness is only a fraction of overall fitness. Marissa believes that addressing our mental well-being, nutrition, and stimulating our intellect are all key factors to achieving a state of overall wellness. Marissa strives to educate individuals and the broader community about the importance of comprehensive health management. She aims to create a significant impact by advocating for a holistic approach to overall wellness. Using her diverse educational background in hopes to advance the field of athletic therapy by integrating innovative techniques into traditional practices. Marissa welcome you to the LIFT experience.
